Also, be wary of .jfifs too, twitter recently began converting every image upload to that as well.
Time to do some data self-care this weekend. In conversation permalink -
cyberpunklord420 (ehhh@varishangout.net)'s status on Sunday, 01-Oct-2023 05:54:45 JST cyberpunklord420 @Spooke @lapin I should probably convert new webps into jpgs/pngs before leaving them on my computer. Should I also convert the old ones sitting around? In conversation permalink -

cyberpunklord420 (ehhh@varishangout.net)'s status on Monday, 02-Oct-2023 06:52:12 JST cyberpunklord420 @lapin @SuccuCirno Twitter users have reported an issue where JPG images are saved as JFIF, which is an image format for exchanging JPEG encoded files. JFIF files should open normally in all popular image editors, and if they don’t, users can rename them from.jfif to.jpg. This issue has started happening due to Windows 10 Creators Update.
I guess it’s because you didn’t get the Windows 10 Creators Update.
