Big Dairy still sour over plant-based “milk” labels, tries to outlaw them
The FDA previously found that no one is confused about where almond milk comes from.

@arstechnica Almond Milk comes from DuPont - good things from chemistry.
@arstechnica If it ain't milk then don't call it milk.

@arstechnica Blue Diamond almond milk is my favorite. I like cow milk products, I'm not lactose intolerant. I just don't like drinking plain milk. I also don't use cow milk often enough before it would go bad.
@arstechnica it’s not pecans, is it? Just a guess.
@arstechnica I heard members of big dairy want their heads cut off, these actions confirm the fact
@arstechnica Wait you're telling me almond milk doesn't come from almond cows??
Wait until they hear about peanut butter.
@arstechnica @lisamelton for being annoying now, they should be hit with a rule that plant-based milks can call themselves milk but they have to call theirs something like “bovine lactation product” and must disclose whether it's manually or machine extracted and, of course, list the hormones and antibiotics administered to the animal.
@arstechnica competition is the cornerstone of a healthy free-market economy which is why corporations in america try to make it illegal
Worth being aware of:
@arstechnica I made it to the second line before checking the byline. Dr. Mole is my favorite.
@arstechnica I get it. The old fashioned me says that milk comes from cows. The hip version of me knows that almond milk comes from almonds. Duh.
@arstechnica Othe non-milk milks are available:
