@foone we were discussing this with friends recently and they pointed out that maybe the software itself is in the library of congress, or its UK equivalent. you do a lot of archival so we assume you've already checked that, but we figured we'd mention it. we'd really love to see the system preserved.

I did find out that as recently as a couple years ago, some library had virtualized their dynix installation so they could pull it up when needed to refer to old records (since they had long replaced it). I'm still trying to get in touch with them.

Foone🏳️⚧️ (foone@digipres.club)'s status on Thursday, 28-Sep-2023 05:07:55 JST Foone🏳️⚧️ I still admire the chutzpah of SirsiDynix in putting me on their mailing list, given that the only reason I've ever interacted with them is to go "Hey I'm an archivist trying to find a copy of Dynix, do you have that?" and they only replied "No. we burnt all the copies then buried the ashes and then shot the people who knew where the holes were and then burnt THEIR ashes".
