   While this movie was nothing short of traumatic, I will admit that it was refreshing to see a war movie where the Germans aren't portrayed as cartoonishly evil monsters.
   
   While it may not be the original "All is Quiet on the Western Front," it's message remains just as timeless / powerful.

     You know this book and movie were absolutely despised by most German west front veterans, and Hitler banned it for hood reason.
