     Its good in a pinch (with newpipe and invidious etc) for finding songs

     And I do, in fact, recommend archiving stuff from there. Some small portion of what's in their DB is actually worth archiving, but that's still a huge amount of disk space.
     None of this is a good excuse to watch anything without first downloading it, or to post links.

     Thats fair. To your point, both newpipe and invidious let you download easily too. I was just being lazy

     @karna @Zerglingman @doctorsex @SuperSnekFriend I really need to add support for video uploads to apogee, and see about automatically downloading youtube links when the links appear in a post (and adding to the post as an attachment), provided yt-dlp is installed.

     @SuperSnekFriend @teknomunk @doctorsex @karna Most invidious instances don't even proxy video content, so what's the point at that point? If you want good ui, use vlc.

     That seems susceptible to abuse or to data problems. Is not a link conversion, from Jewtube to Invidious or Piped, more safer?

     So far, it's just an idea. If I implement automatic conversion, it will first be for links in my own posts. Then I *may* extend it to accounts I follow or a specific whitelist of accounts.
