The government has brain washed you into thinking that the northern states fought the civil war to end slavery. The northern states fought the civil war to establish the federal government as the supreme legal authority and rob states of their sovereign right to self determination. Desegregation never would have happened without the iron fist of the federal government crushing the Will of the people.
