Hi there,
I'm trying to find two things:
a) a general "help function" / FAQ etc. for maston from a user perspective
to find (at the moment)
b) a complete list of the new search parameters for v. 4.2.0 like "from:", inparticular to search for posts of mine on a specific date.

  Additional question re/ #hashtags:
  are they also opt-in now or are they always "opent" for search w/o an explicit opt-in action on behalf of each user?

You can use several of these within the same search: has:media, has:poll, has:embed – Filters for posts with an attachment (images, audio, video), a poll, or a link that produces some kind of embedded media (such as a YouTube link). language:fr using language codes – Filters for posts using that language, the example would filter for posts in French. Click here to see a complete list of language codes on Mastodon. is:reply, is:sensitive – Filters for replies or posts marked as sensitive. from:user, from:me – Filters for posts by particular user, the “me” tag searches only posts you have made yourself. in:all, in:library – All filters for any post, library filters for posts you have interacted with or written yourself. before:date, during:date, after:date – Filters for posts before, during or after the selected date.   Hashtags are not opt in, because the assumption is people will only use hashtags if they want the post to be found in searches for that tag.

  I just tried the date parameter during:2023-09-15 with from:@HistoPol and it works great (despite not opting in, but anyway, since it is my account, perfect. :))

  Yeah, searches have always been available for your own posts, as there's no privacy or safety problem in someone seeing their own posts 👍
