     I wonder if they change it going forward. you can change your last name if there's a valid reason (i.e. an insult), but you may not infringe trademarks or get a "von" name.
     
     so the Freiherren von Fick cannot rename themselves Freiherren von Flick or something :blobcatgooglyshrug:
