   I think people forget hatchbacks exist ,and thats why these things exist.

     Hatchbacks are sweet but sometimes there's stuff that's just awkwardly large and you need the open end of a truck. The avalanche was total kino with the midgate that gave you a full 8ft bed when folded down. Sometimes you want a comfy family ride, sometimes you want to haul a bed full of stuff. I think they had a better suspension on that with coil and leaf springs for the rear, like a Tahoe with a better max rear load.
