   The thing about debates on literary (or film, or whatever) elitism is that they're really disconnected from ~what sells~

   There is a heavy level of elitism in the book world, but these days it's not a clique of lit majors scolding people who don't read Proust, the elitists are the people reading the latest successes and proudly refusing to read anything over twenty years old

     It is hard for me to find communities in which to share my love of independantly-published (audio) shows, which I find to be (subjective judgement) better written than the Hollywood, etc (predominantly effects-heavy) fluff. The fediverse is better than a lot of places, but still heavily biased in favour of popculture.

     Hmmm, should my comedic tournament have a loosers semi-finals? Appears they lost due to being obscure.
