I've been thinking a lot of playing Gothic 2 again lately. I really quite miss that simple lowpoly style of 3d graphics. I hope that will get a resurgence in the same manner as Pixelart has in the last decade. I know lowpoly is a common style in indie gamedev, but I haven't really seen anyone replicating the same atmosphere as those early 2000 games. My absolute favorite titles in those days were Gothic 2 and Rayman 2.

As right now a ps1 aesthetic seems to be gaining popularity, so maybe in a few years more gothic 2/ps2 aesthetic might come, who knows :)

Still, babysteps. Trying to get a bit of insight in Godot, though I might try Unity as well. I find the biggest challenge to actually get the overview of starting a project.

I'd like to explore that style myself in the future too, but ive only dabbled in 3d a little.
