Nazo (nazokiyoubinbou@mastodon.social)'s status on Wednesday, 20-Sep-2023 09:41:22 JST Nazo @nixCraft The old Maxtor I put in my PS2 a long time ago was going on 15 years before I replaced it. In fact I only probably had one drive ever actually die on me in all my computing years. All made it past 5.
I didn't replace it because it was dying. I replaced it because I just knew someday soon-ish it must surely get around to eventually dying. That and I wanted to go to less moving parts (I stuck a cheap SSD in an adapter. Should outlast the entire rest of the hardware now.)
