   @Edge @Elliptica @fishsticks @zero Because Extra Deck monsters and the handful of monsters with "Must first be Special Summoned" clauses are only able to be special summoned from the gy if they were summoned properly in the first place.
   
   Missing the timing hurts me specifically cause my favorite bad deck is Lavals and their archetype is rife with When effects.

     @Edge @Elliptica @fishsticks @zero Starlight Road really should have treated it as a Synchro summon. I was clarifying more for the poor man who has been dragged along for the conversation though.

     Yes I know the ruling, we can't have people Gale Dogra-ing Z-Arc and then Monster Reborning it, I just think it's retarded that Starlight Road and other similar cards don't have a clause saying "Treat this as a Synchro summon" or something to that effect.
     Machismo repeated this.
