   everything about this situation is so confusing
   
   why was w not more transparent from the start, why did he bounce back so hard when someone questioned the way he's handling the entire situation, why is he even fighting pete to begin with if the [big] vulnerability is so trivial.
   
   it's why i'm skeptical of both sides right now, on one hand w seems well intentioned and wants to genuinely help the community here, and i respect that, but the situation is being handled very poorly right now by him. we don't know the scale of the vulnerabilities, which is causing more fearmongering than it's worth for some people that are trying to consider both sides here (like me).
   
   on the other hand we have pete and r going out of their way to say that the vulnerability is not a big deal and we should not shut down our bloat instances, further adding to this fire of "unknown scale of vulnerability" and just causing more panic [for the people who are not just taking these statements from both sides at face value].
   
   we don't really have a clue as to whether pete and r are right or not to go out of their way and downplay the vulns (unless you are just trusting them because of their reputation, but that would be foolish in a situation as serious as this one, humans aren't perfect) and talk about the vulns themselves. thus we are here
   
   i am confused as fuck, these are my thoughts
