     Remasters that don't add any meaningful content should be generally ignored in favor of piracy. You can get the older games for free without any Current Year bullshit.

     Lazy remasters that don't add any content and only provide minor visual upgrades and Current Year censorship are everywhere and they're something that's very easy to opt out of. It's one thing to buy a new game in spite of annoying localization, but buying an old game that's been made worse, even if it's only in a minor way, is pretty pointless anyways.

     I assume the ESG tentacles will worm their way in regardless of consumer demand and market forces, and only really look at these games from the perspective of whether or not they're fun and provide value that's worth the money. I'm not gonna demand people boycott stuff they like solely out of principle, but if the game sucks or offers nothing new you can't get for free it's not really a sacrifice to pass.

     My purchase is as meaningless as my vote in terms of making a difference in what these companies decide to do and it's wrong to legitimize the system by pretending if we could only get everyone to voooote the right way with our dollars we could fix things. Obviously most games nowadays are mediocre and uninteresting regardless and your time can better be spent elsewhere, but fighting over what you do choose to indulge in doesn't make much sense to me.

     The government does in fact print a ton of money, and managers like Blackrock play a big role in where it's allocated and who gets easy credit. Either way normies will be normies and will follow the herd regardless, so trying to just wake everyone up and get them on board with mass movements is generally not all that fruitful a use of your time. Our culture and civilization is rotting away, and the focus should be navigating that and building for the future. Whether or not you buy this or that video game based on how "based" or "woke" it is will not make a difference.

     I try to not buy a lot of stuff and try to find better uses of my time. I don't really go to movies and haven't bought a Western game in a while. I just don't like getting bitched at for the times when I do want to buy and enjoy something.

     It's not. My purchasing decisions don't meaningfully affect the decisions a multinational corporation makes. They do matter insofar as they affect my life. If the game is good and worthwhile outside of some bad localization it can be a worthwhile use of leisure time. If the game is just trash altogether then it is a waste of time and should be avoided. But the focus should be on how my decisions affect me, and not on worrying about what the sales figures will mean for what multinational corporations do in the future.

     Yeah, I'm pretty sure I could buy used if I wanted to, and it's probably better to do that when possible. And there are situations where it does make a difference how you spend your money, in terms of buying local vs large chains. But I'm not gonna be able to disconnect from the system completely, and worrying about WEF stuff in all cases is tiring. I just don't think this particular battle is a focal point. Either way I've barely even bought any vidya this year because I've been preoccupied with other stuff, which is usually a good way for all this to take care of itself.
