So, apparently, if you requested to follow someone who required approval of follows, and later they remove that requirement without approving that request, you need to unrequest and re-follow. Do I have that right? I wonder how many stale follow requests I have floating out there... @feditips

But it's pretty rare that this happens, there would only be a short period of time when such a request could get "lost".
Also, in general on the Fediverse if a follow hasn't gone through and looks like an unanswered request, it's a good idea to unrequest and then refollow. Due to the way the Fedi works, if something goes wrong with a follow, it often looks like it's an unanswered follow request even when the account doesn't have requests active.
