   Have social sciences meaningfully advanced our understanding of human nature beyond even what the ancients knew? The natural sciences very clearly have, but I don't see anything remotely comparable with social sciences.

     They see anything old as something that has to go, be it culture (in any form from mass-media to customs) to computing knowledge.
