     not just that, where do you think the term "son of a bitch" comes from?
     up to 100 years ago, the term "whore's son" was the worst insult you could call someone.
     our forefathers knew very well how a child without a father will end up, and there culture reflected that.
     same reason why bastards have always been shunned.
     a child that grows up without a father always turns out fucked up in one way or another.
