"this is what happened in 1942 so it's what will happen in 2023"
with modern earthmoving equipment a functional country could build a new dry dock in a matter of months, let alone repair an existing one. depending on the damage the downtime might only be a few days
I say "a functional country" because this is exactly the sort of thing *we* can't do anymore, but russia and china can. here, between vultures fighting over the contract, environmental bullshit, miles of red tape and general incompetence it really would take a decade to fix/replace a dry dock if it was attacked

On a related note, we’re almost 15 weeks into the Greatest Bestest Counter Offensive Ever and the Ukies have barely put a dent in Russian defensive lines

Funny enough despite all the super duper space tech western gear, there was recently or perhaps still is a point on the line where the Ukis broke through with man-spam but couldn't properly consolidate because they can't get vehicles in because Russia dug a hole.
And despite said WW1 tech anti-tank ditch no longer actually being under Russian control, the Ukis still couldn't do anything with it, so all their advances were hindered by the fact they wouldn't be able to solidify their front by bringing the logistics up there, because a fucking dug trench.
