     You're right in the main, but Adam may not have just been thinking about the fruit and its effects. He listened to his wife and ate: this tells us that he gave greater weight to his wife's words than to God's words, effectively being an idolater/hypersimp.
     
     Adam listened to his wife, but he was not deceived the way she was - he knew better per 1 Timothy 2:14. We can almost hear him say, "if Eve shall die, I shall die with her" before he takes the first bite.
