     It's basically confusing being a living doormat with trusting your husband's judgement and deferring to decisions when appropriate. They think being submissive means you have to surrender your individuality to him and do whatever he says without ever expressing your desires or pushing back.
     
     Part of it probably comes from the fact a lot of right wing men literally do just want a doormat who will let them take out a second mortgage on their house to bet on the crypto market.

     @Impaler @PvtProperty They really internalized media messaging that all marriages before feminist “liberation” (ie. mass cubicle farming) is tantamount to abusive esclavitude.

     My dog is submissive to me, but I take care of her and scratch her ears, keep her well fed, and make sure she’s always safe and comfy. Her submission is required so she doesn’t go sprinting after a rabbit and fall into the river, though.

     Fools like this just think we’re walking around and kicking our dogs in the ribs for every little inconvenience. It’s completely insane.
