@coolboymew i've tried wk like four times over the years but i always hit a point around the 20s where i just can't fit any more kanji into my tiny pea brain :cringingcat:
@rosey I'm not sure where the farthest I've been, probably 20s too
The issue is that around 50+ lessons every levels kinda realllllly sucks and I really don't like the unlocking system because it's easy to get into monstrous 500+ reviews quickly and these are long and sucks and would get even longer as it goes, and then the more reviews you succeed at and the more lessons you unlock and the system doesn't seem to have a good answer about this
@rosey Ehh, I'll pass on that one. The thing I like about Wanikani vs the shit heap that is Anki is that you actually have to type things up, making you remember it better. If course, this comes with problems, but it's way better than you rating yourself
@coolboymew@rosey That's configurable, but ultimately you still hold the keys in Anki so any lapse in self-control can undermine your system. The main draw to Wanikani for me was that I could put money down on a year-long subscription and have an effective deadline to keep me motivated on my intended pace.
