     @frankpodmore Likely where sadaqah (Arabic)/sadaka (Turkish) came from. Although, as far I know, it is seen as much more traditional charity there.

     @aral I found out yesterday about the Jewish concept of 'tzedakah', which is exactly what you describe here: it's usually translated as 'charity' but, in its highest form, should result in the recipient becoming self-sufficient

     Eradication of white privilege is really eradication of white supremacist ideology and racism. I'm going to argue that privilege is good. The #privilege of having human rights recognized and defended should be universal.

     @travisfw If we all have it, it becomes a right, not a privilege. That’s why we call them human rights not human privileges. And yes, we should all enjoy human rights and have a society that enables everyone to live with human dignity. In order for that to happen we must convert the privileges of the few into the rights of the many. That is the whole point of the post.
