Iran backing off of protecting karabakh, Russia trying to stick by armenia, whilest the armenian president allows american troops to train with his army, and azeris looking to commit genocide again. The situation is being juggled and it's not clear who will do what to protect who. All nato wants is turkey to enforce a gas pipeline through azerbaijan to get people to buy oil from baku instead of third parties selling Russian fuel.
