go see the TOTAL solar eclipse next year, April 8th
Check the map: https://eclipse2024.org/eclipse_cities/statemap.html
I did a trip in 2017 for the last one that went over the USA, the few minutes of totality is worth the effort
just booked a hotel room near DFW Texas, surprised there's still availability

@harblinger people travel for this?
-
@romin @harblinger but an eclipse tho'?
-
@coolboymew @harblinger people travel to anime conventions.
-
@coolboymew for sure, when I drove to the path of totality in 2017 in the middle of nowhere and camped, a ton of people showed up. I've read hotels are booked full like a year in advance usually. The experience is like nothing else, the way the wildlife reacts is just as cool as the visual in the sky imho

@harblinger huh, crazy
I checked the map, I assume that the blue line is ideal? However, my city is right outside the the outside of the line
-
@coolboymew if you're between the red lines you get to experience totality, but yeah the blue line is where it's longest. If you enter the city name you can run a simulator to show how long it will last, etc
