Yeah but the issue is not just the machine but the kits as well. I just don't want to have to go to the hospital every time I sneeze funny when I know the blood tests they'll run to check for an issue. Even a fucking 12 led EKG machine is behind a wall. What nefarious shit are they thinking I'm going to do with that? Nevermind trying to buy a ramp system.

"Here lies Jim, he died after his head exploded from the Wish dot com CT machine he bought for 20 dollars"

@Jim @Sui It's purely them making sure someone doesn't get the bright idea to open up their own clinic/hospital with said equipment. I'm sure they probably parade it as some kind of "safety hazard" thing but its total bullshit cause they just don't want people to take healthcare into their own hands. Easier for them to control the system if they keep people out at arms reach.

they sell x-ray machines too. normally you get less than 0.001 mSv per x-ray, I wonder how high it is from a Chinese device

@graf @Sui @Jim @dalcello Enough to cook tonights dinner in less than 3 seconds flat or it just explodes on start up. Kinda reminds me of this video I found the other day. I've never seen a Geiger counter go this nuts before.

lol.. you have to build special insulated rooms for MRI machines because of the extreme magnetic fields they generate. 🤣

@Jim @Sui tl;dr either DIY or black market (ie import violation) or you have to rent a warehouse and order research lab equipment
at least an EKG will be easy to get. either from overseas or something sold for teaching or even DIY because it's just taking voltage traces at the end of the day. the contact pads aren't regulated you can get those on amazon
the issue you're running into is that anything "intended to diagnose or treat humans" will have to be "under the supervision or on the order of a licensed medical professional" or whatever the phrasing is. since it's down to intention the easiest way around the nonsense is to pick stuff up labeled "for research only". or occasionally for veterinary use but that's going to vary. however you will generally require both a commercial shipping address and a business license for that. and even then, depending on the item the seller might start asking lots of questions about what it is exactly that the company you work for does
