     Yeah I'm getting really tired of people, especially newbies, coming in and really missing the forest for the trees. They'll argue about DEWs (which there is a military dew base on maui apparently and isn't a made up tech) but completely miss out on trying to convince people of the why and who. Honestly the how doesn't matter as much as they think it does.
     
     The land developers plugged into the government who have been trying to get that land for years, the sheriff/police chief who was in charge during the vegas shooting being the first non Hawaiian to be in that position, the police blocking only exits, the sirens not working, the water being turned off, the kids being sent home without notifying the parents then the parents being told they've been evacuated without allowing the parents to check, insurance claiming they won't pay out, no wealthy people on the island's houses being burned down, etc.
     
     Any and all of those aspects are much easier to prove to normal people. Like I said why is "how" it happened more important than who is benefiting (the why and who).
