     Yeah, Borb was concentrated baby boomer parenting at its worst. The moment they were convinced that people were gonna send Chris to an insane asylum, they showed that they were clueless.
     Granted, Chris would have probably wound up in foster care which is its own nightmare.

     People don’t ever talk about the ‘what if’ had people not intruded in his life and broken his brain though. I would bet barb was happy he had “internet friends” for a time, that’s largely what created this beast today.

     It’s not just society that broke him, there were plenty of people poking and prodding him into insanity the whole way

     He abandoned his original family and married another woman, then tried to have another kid way way way too late in life for both of them.
     
     It's not terribly surprising chris ended up a bit potato-like. Although the hopes he had for him are desperately sad in context of what actually happened.
     
     Once chris-chan was conceived I don't think there was anything he could do to salvage the situation.
