I'm hatching a plan. Tomorrow at the usual time, how about SWAT while trying to beat NM? @Zerglingman @Recetti @lina
- Machismo likes this.
-
@MK2boogaloo @Recetti @lina I'd like to power lina through some more cookie builds before that.
Which, if we can at least get that many people, would be doable in maybe 60min -> 40min pin + 2x 10min normal.
-
@Zerglingman @lina @Recetti do you really need to do that though? Since he's going to pick Cyborg which we all know, no one's going to pick anyway. Also, the best way to learn how to beat NM is to play NM.
-
@MK2boogaloo @lina @Recetti IIRC his r11 borg is engi or something.
-
@Zerglingman @MK2boogaloo @Recetti i think we'll win anyway
-
@lina @Recetti @MK2boogaloo Well... We'll see. NM is a LOT harder than ins. Two minibosses that really mess things up are chills and stnts. The latter is usually not as big of a deal if you can bounce it.
-
@Zerglingman @lina @Recetti fuck, so wrong build?
-
@MK2boogaloo @lina @Recetti Engi is pretty useless on a borg. He doesn't even get tinkering so he can only get uhhh, probably +4 from cyber, which isn't enough to crack 150 until maybe level 45ish.
-
@MK2boogaloo @Zerglingman @Recetti shut up the build is good i died only once because i forgot to turn on nans after using forcefield while running it
-
@lina @Recetti @MK2boogaloo In ins you can get away with having a trait that you never use.

@lina @Zerglingman @Recetti NM is a different beast than insane. Trust me, I can beat Pins with Zerg any day with ease. Just the two of us. But even with 3 people, NM is almost unbeatable.
-
@MK2boogaloo @Recetti @lina >I can beat Pins with Zerg any day with ease
lol no you can't, skill issue man.
-
@Zerglingman @MK2boogaloo @Recetti i often use engi cuz it lets me copy a good item
what should i do then, surv for integrating vests for free slots?
-
@lina @Recetti @MK2boogaloo Acro.
-
@Recetti @MK2boogaloo @lina Like the good thing about swat is that almost every combination actually does have some use, but there are some obviously better and obviosuly worse combinations. Acro is basically the best borg trait for pure tanking.
-
@Zerglingman @MK2boogaloo @Recetti yea that gives dodge, doesn't it?
-
@lina @Recetti @MK2boogaloo 33%
-
@lina @Recetti @MK2boogaloo With max OR it's 60%. 1-((1-0.4)*(1-0.33))
-
@Zerglingman @MK2boogaloo @Recetti nutty, with max organic replacement it's 73%, plus combat vests giving a chance to reduce incoming damage it's gonna be barely any damage to the manabar
-
@Recetti @MK2boogaloo @lina Also I don't recall what order stuff applies in. Evasion is first, damage absorption is last, I think armour applies before nanites but I don't know for sure.
-
@lina @Zerglingman @Recetti remember that what you're saying is still in your mind, not applicable. Since NM gives you so many surprise.
-
@Zerglingman @MK2boogaloo @Recetti eh isn't it a seperate dodge that would proc seperately from the dodge i'll have from the trait? like when you have both evasion and drunken brawler in a custom
-
@lina @Recetti @MK2boogaloo I'm not too familiar with default names for skills.
And yes, that is exactly how it is, which is why it works out like that. If the first proc fails, the second one rolls, if that also fails, you get hit, ergo the chance to dodge is the inverse of the chance to fail to dodge twice.
-
@Zerglingman @MK2boogaloo @Recetti huh, i thought mathematically it'd just mean because it'd be two rolls one after another and therefore both chances are full, so instead of 60%, it's be a full 73%
-
@lina @Recetti @MK2boogaloo What happens if you have two 50% rolls?
-
@Zerglingman @MK2boogaloo @Recetti yea i guess you caught me there, it'd be two 50/50 rolls that could both fail or one could win, so i guess it'd be like a 75% instead
-
@lina @Recetti @MK2boogaloo Exactly, and 1-((1-0.5)-(1-0.5))=0.25. More to the point, if the first roll passes, you don't roll the second one, because you've already dodged it.
-
@Recetti @MK2boogaloo @lina err, fk, there's one too many - in there and one too few *.
-
Going from 50% dodge to 75% dodge reduces incoming damage by 50%, so it all works out in the end.
