@Inginsub @montgomery @Pawlicker @pernia @lina @meowski @kirby @fba @mint @bot that is so retarded only a webdev could have done it
-
@e @montgomery @Pawlicker @pernia @lina @meowski @kirby @fba @mint @bot did you miss it?
tl;dr you can prevent soapbox users from seeing your posts by wrapping them in spans with quote-inline class, and alex refuses to fix it because he is an insecure manbaby

>I discover a bug that hides posts from soapbox and ackoma users by wrapping them into the same class used by InlineQuotePolicy
>trolled a few people with it, haven't gone further than that
>fast forward to about a week ago
>when talking to p in private, I remember the bug and suggest him to make an MRF that automatically wraps all posts in it
>he responds by sending me said MRF's source
>turns out the absolute madman actually added it to his instance, enabled it in config but haven't yet restarted it to apply
>a few hours later cassidy notifies me about an unrelated vulnerability kirino found
>next day I investigate it further and find a temporary workaround
>later I make a proper fix and submit it to Pleroma's upstream repo
>it gets merged, new security release released
>p backports it to FSE, restarts the instance to apply, this kicks the quotepost MRF active
>doesn't notice it until a soapbox user points that out, then decides to roll with it
>poasties see empty posts, get confused
>graf mad, cries to p in IRC
>gleason mad
>zero mad
>neetzsche is the only one to submit a fix, but it gets rejected
>after having enough exposure, p caves in, flips a coin until it lands heads and disables the MRF
>gleason chugs some soy, calms down and goes back to hacking on nostr
>zero still mad
