>thread shitting on Macademia and praising Iruma-kun
Absolutely based
-
@coolboymew Show is really solid to boot. I need to watch the latest season.
-
@Kevin7557 There's a pretty hype arc in the beginning, then it isn't going as expected, but it's going in a totally Iruma-kun way
-
@coolboymew So the usual chill and engaging arch.
I haven't read the manga yet. How close is the anime sticking to the source material? Hero Academia anime started leaving essential things out when I dropped it.
Dropped the official Hero manga because they altered the All for One Speech in the official translation. Screwed up All Might's dream with Midoria's dream.
-
@Kevin7557 not reading the manga, I'm more of an anime man
There's someone around the fedi that told me the anime is better than the manga in some ways
-
@coolboymew It Likely has a steadier pace and can flush out elements that the writer cannot in the manga.
Fedi is a mixed bag. The last people I encountered were fucking retarded. Most seem to be cool. Hey, how did the great migration from Twitter go? I wasn't paying attention when they said they were coming over here.
-
@Kevin7557 @coolboymew
Fuck you leatherman
-
@Kevin7557 @coolboymew
If you're annoyed by people in fedi you should switch instances, you're in the biggest and most political one around, the most divisive too but mostly for leftytards not us
-
@Elfie @coolboymew Huh?
-
@qwerty @Kevin7557 that sounds like a pretty spectacular adaptation
I had high hopes when I heard it was the Pripara director doing this
-
@Kevin7557 @coolboymew the anime is sticking close the to manga and even adding stuff that fixes minor plotholes here and there and improving the pace of charater development
-
@coolboymew @Kevin7557 yeah i am mainly a manga guy and i have a jaded and cynical view of anime adaptations but i love iruma-kun so i gave the anime a shot and i was very surprised by the quality
-
@Kevin7557 @Elfie there were plenty of screens and threads, you just missed all of them
-
@Elfie @coolboymew Ah, there is a misunderstanding owed to my broadness. The fedi and its myriad of personalities and opinions are fine. These screeching monkeys larping as 4chan users were what I am referring to. Their greatest offense was they were boring. My greatest offense was taking a copypasta seriously and thinking it was pathetic. Suitable for toughening the skin.
So anyway, how did the great migration from Twitter go? I was hoping to see some great screens of them being assblasted or realizing what they wandered into. Yet nothing. :( Tribal or whatever it is called yeeted them. No idea how mastodon is coping, but watching them sperg because they cannot censor people over there was enjoyable.
-
@qwerty @coolboymew My brother holds a similar sentiment towards manga and anime. You get a lot of good recommendations from people like that.
-
@Kevin7557 @Elfie pretty funny. No back and forth, but massive threads of insults, memes and such you could read and then you could check their accounts to see how offended they were
They're throwing plenty of shitty ideas, like centralization, but obviously, it won't work, is completely against what the fedi is doing, and they have no power here (and aren't devs either)
Even Gargon had to come out and say to just use the tools they're provided to mute/block IIRC
-
@coolboymew @Elfie That makes sense. I only checked a bit, didn't really lurk hard for them. Was it spectacular?
-
@coolboymew @Elfie Gargon is the founder or lead dev of the fedverse? How do people not understand to mute or block people? Naturally, they wanted more centralized control.
That's what I get for not lurking more. What was the best one?
-
@Kevin7557 @Elfie No, of Mastodon only
And the result was entire predictable because the same thing happened when Mastodon was a thing (I was here during the last of the Gnu Social era)
The spiciest one was probably was when the holocaust museum made an account on some instance. The thread was massive. Someone probably has the link
-
@Kevin7557 @Elfie You could say the fediverse is just this current, and past, set of decentralized software talking to each others
Even before mastodon and pleroma, there was multiple software that aren't used anymore, or we can't federate with them
-
@coolboymew @Elfie Is the Fedverse the successor to Mastodon? I always figured they were separate platforms.
-
@rizz @Elfie @Kevin7557 mastodon is stored in the balls
-
@coolboymew @Kevin7557 @Elfie WHAT IN THE BALLS IS MASTODON PLEASE HELP
-
@coolboymew @Elfie @Kevin7557 gotchu, thanks my guy
-
@Elfie @coolboymew For a second, I wondered if I was mistaken about them being separate platforms or Mastodon still being around. What's the reason they are in competition with one another? Aside from the fact Mastodon's head would love to censor his platform but cannot because of how he created it.
Toppest of keks. What'd they think would happen coming to a corner of the web populated by people sick of their bs? That they'd flood in and then using their large numbers start bossing the platform holder around? That they'd be able to cancel them?
Hey, do you know any good paranormal instances? Most of the oldfags from X are gone, and I miss their wisdom and insights. Cannot figure out where they went to.
-
@Kevin7557 @coolboymew
No program can be a successor if the previous platform is still alive, it did happened with gnu.social and a couple others that were made obsolete, but this isn't the case with mastodon
Mastodon and pleroma are competing platforms technically speaking, in practical terms they are an ideological breach for which there's no solution, it's all very stupid and petty
On a side note you missed the migration! There was a journalist instance called journo.host or something and everyone bullied the fuck out of it, they also made articles about how racist and mean everyone was, an absolute shitshow for mastodon not so much for this side imo :laughing_cirno:
-
@Kevin7557 @Elfie multiple software is just normal for this kind of protocols. See IRC and the billions of clients
As for specific communities, especially for /x/, I know none unfortunately
-
@coolboymew @Elfie Thanks for all the information.
