it's hard reading history books sometimes, same kind of distrust as with science. "how much of this is true" keeps coming to mind even on seemingly meaningless events and details.

@bleedingphoenix For history, stick to original documents, speeches, and archeological discoveries.
Learning about the last 2 centuries, and the middle ages, became a lot more enjoyable, and clearer.
I'd say summary statements of events and motivations are nearly worthless. And, may only serve to capture the bias of the summorizor.
