@neko Bash is the industry standard, it should be anywhere unless you're trying to run it on some old-ass router or something. Stop being a luddite, chuddy.

@mint It's absolutely everywhere indeed but the problem is that people will write "bash scripts" when they're just plain old shell scripts

@neko @mint to a degree it's because "shell" doesn't exist. various bsd `/bin/sh`'s as well as the common debian `dash` all have some extensions you'd probably like to use to not have to parse /etc/passwd for your $HOME and shit. netbsd's /bin/sh understnds ~!!! woah
regardless the bashims can get bad
