I don't think we'll see any frost at all for at least 6 weeks. Usually it starts to get a little nippy around mid to late october. Sometimes it waits until November. -

6 weeks is probably worst case on frost. It's possible we still have 8 - 10 weeks, but it wouldn't be a total surprise to see frost mid october -

Right now it's so dry that I'd be afraid to increase the day time heat anyway, but being prepared to try and extend the season might be good. Where it is growing is really sandy so I don't think the soil retains much moisture. -

If you have some wood laying around and a bit of vapor barrier, you could put up a portable cold frame for keeping them warm at night and then permanently place it over top once the weather starts getting sketchy. I used tubing from the roof a garbage tarp shed and it helped out lots in the spring with our 20⁰C days and 4⁰C nights. Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: likes this.
