@justnormalkorean@poa.st I'll also add that the vast, vast majority (more than 80%) of all instances defederating us are Mastodon instances. So, in many respects, this is less of a "fediblock" thing and more of "Mastodon" thing. In fact, one could probably argue that fediblock itself is uniquely a Mastodon thing.
Mastodon is, itself, separate and different from the rest of the fediverse. They maintain their own culture, their own politics, their own drama. They are a world unto themselves. They might as well be on a completely different subnetwork.
I really wouldn't be sad if Mastodon just split themselves off from using AP and adopted some Mastodon-specific standard and spun off to create their own "fediverse".. because, it's very clear that Mastodon instances/users do not like the wider fediverse, do not respect the denizens of the wider fediverse, and would far prefer to be their own thing.
