Oh wait, it gets worse. I looked through the store page and on their first dev post they explicitly say they want to move away from the "stale arcade experience" and have an "in-level progression system" based on GTA 2 and Hitman. :what:
Yeah, cause the world needs more shoddy GTA knockoffs. I can't wait to be forced to reload a map twenty times to get a particular vehicle to spawn with just the right loadout so I can use it!!!! I just HATED the way the original game let you choose your loadout and think tactically!!! I LOVE wandering aimlessly through an open world full of endlessly respawning enemies, having to rely on pure random chance for unlocks!!!!!! :yuudachi_tired:
I really hope the devs are just being retarded and failing to communicate here, cause otherwise I see basically no relation between Brigador and whatever the fuck this is other than a bunch of reused assets. :chino_angry:

@Giganova8 @DrRyanSkelton so is this still supposed to be a sequel? this sounds more like a whole new series.

It's a direct sequel, the whole point is apparently playing as guys from the factions you stomped in the first game to go hunt down the player characters from the first. Honestly, it sounds dumb, and I wish they had just gone with "Brigador but more". It feels like they want to make a different game, but don't want to give up the brand recognition and IP work from the first one, so they're just sloppily tying it together and hoping for the best.
Doesn't help matters that AFAICT the devs only really look at their Discord for feedback and criticism, which has predictably regressed into a total hugbox. :awoo_pout:

Well yeah, but it was always an option. You could play "stealthy powersuit", or you could get in the Leviathan with dual Konigs and kill everything that moves. Now it's looking like they're gonna enforce not just a stealth-based infantry-focused gameplay loop, it's gonna be open-world too, so you lose all the tight balance in favor of """options""" that don't actually mean anything. :hoshino_ultraweary:
