   Glad to hear Apple has killed its plans to implement privacy-destroying on-device scan and snitch into its devices (although it will make autocrats like Erdoğan unhappy to hear it because they likely had plans for it).

     @mez Sadly, no.

     It was always going to be a stopgap. All my energy is going into building the Small Web. That’s a real alternative instead of a bandaid.

     @martijn That’s not great either but a very different thing to on-device scanning. Neither is desirable. The latter is even worse.
