@Meemoo I don't use 4chan at all but even these types made it to there, huh? Yes, losing a job isn't great. It's an inconvenience, and sucks if you don't have many resources saved. But I think the competent workers can find another job, or get saved a spot when the workforce gets absorbed into another branch. If I was a manager and there were good animators, musicians, programmers, and etc. at Volition, I'd scoop them out of this trash bag and put them on a project they actually would like. It'd be even easier if I was in an authoritative position at a parent company/branch...
It's the baggage and the worthless ones that somehow ended up with a job that stand to lose... and those are the ones that complain online about their human rights being deprived or whatever (at least, from my observed track record of "those types" of people that hold jobs at studios like Volition) :akko_sus:
The upside to it is that you or others can publicly shit all over said retards unfiltered so it's still miles and leagues better than anywhere else that guy got the most amount of (You)s I've ever seen on the site. All people laughing at him
@Meemoo This kind of emotional appeal is such a pathetic way to run defense for something, even worse since it's after-the-fact. Bro, the actually good employees probably were SAVED from having to work on garbage again. You wanna talk about being a "heartless, soulless, no-woman-loving" person? Trapping talented people in garbage products like the Saints Row of modern day is what I call heartless, soulless, and no-woman-loving worthy. It does suck though, because none of these guys would be proud to put trash like the Saints Row reboot on their resumes either. So if anything, getting let off from Volition is just cutting losses early. Maybe there's a good part like an actually nice song or piece of video game technology to take credit for, but... jeez..
Imagine you're a competent animator, modeler, artist, musician, programmer, or whatever technical position. You're excited to work on video games, a hobby of yours and a career interest all your life. You land a job and you realize the project isn't shaping out to be a great as you thought. Retarded decisions left and right, but you're stuck at this studio and all you can do is fulfill the job. Either you find a new place to go, suck it up and do the bare minimum and head home with a paycheck, or get the passion sucked out of you. It would be an extra spit in the face if you were a fan of Saints Row BEFORE joining the studio.
@Cayhr his comment simply doesn't work on me because I don't care
They are not my friends. Why should I give a shit if they lose a job? So did everyone else in this recession. Also this is 100% on them for making a shitty product AND being smug about it despite the warnings from literally everyone
@Meemoo >Game creators do a shit job at making a game >they antagonize the fans of the series >Deflect criticism and blame gamers >the game bombs >They lose their jobs
Why the fuck should I feel bad that a bunch of idiots that can't program for shit and hate their customers lost their jobs? Kinda sounds like the consequences of their own actions to me.
@Meemoo When the reboot was first teased people were actually excited for the game. ...Until the reveal trailer dropped.
My guess is that they were forced to shove the game out of the door unfinished because Embracer lost faith in the product after the intense negative reaction to the reveal trailer. After that the game became a meme because it made launch Cyberpunk 2077 look like a polished product.
I hope we get a post mortem on what the fuck happened behind the scenes one day.
