@YeetLibs@apropos “They feel like Hololive jp but in English” is how she summed them up. She also goes on and on about their appeal as idols but that’s harder to paraphrase, and I’m sure you all get it anyway.
@jimmybuffettfanaccount@YeetLibs@apropos They understand what virtual youtubing is about and put in effort pretending to be nearly perfect (they're shit at video games) 2D characters; unlike other egirls that you can find off twitch that picked up vtubing and resort to treating the viewer as their boyfriend but only care about the wealth extraction part of the relationship.
Some of the largest Japanese ones (Pekora) understand this, and it's extremely rare to find this behavior in English streamers, probably because the streaming meta that's courtesy of Twitch/Amazon literally trains women to be whores.
@cunnyoisseur@jimmybuffettfanaccount@YeetLibs they're into the kayfabe and they attract an audience that likes that to the point that they'll fact-check others: "Pero did that stream, not Mococo. Can you not see the video? Mococo is clearly not even on the screen right now." quite a difference from ironic kayfabe, "yeah I have my 'scythe-swinging lessons' to go to" or Nerissa forgetting kayfabe altogether, "I have to recalibrate my avatar"
@nierenstein@jimmybuffettfanaccount they're cute, wholesome, and make even typing-simulator games fun with their constant-collab streaming style also good karaoke: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT1tcoY5jKY also kids like them: >babysitting >she doesn't want to go outside because it's too hot (same) >"can we eat popsicles and watch the green lady ?" (she means fauna, she has watched her with me several times and seemingly enjoys it more than watching tv) >have some fuwamoco streams to catch up and they are pretty safe for kids depending on the game >ask if she would like to try watching different ladies >okay :) >when i say she likes to "watch fauna" it's more that she likes the experience. she likes watching block game on the screen and listening to a soft voice more so than she likes watching specifically fauna herself. usually babbles about what she would do if she was playing or asks me what things mean if fauna happens to say something that catches in her mind. (she's only 5, fauna talks about a lot of stuff a kid isn't gonna know or understand) >turn on fuwamoco >completely different attitude, she's enraptured almost instantly >no words, just staring at them >game starts but her attention doesn't waver, still staring only at fuwamoco >starts verbally responding whenever they say "ruffians" (she never once understood that "sapling" meant the viewer) >talks back to the screen when fuwawa asks questions >immediately understands that mococo is "the sidekick" and making fun of her is encouraged >"i don't know, i think moco-chan *does* sound like that sometimes, right ruffians?" >"YEAH SHE DOES!" *clapping and laughing* >never says a single word to me the entire time, her full attention is on fuwamoco start to finish >near the end of the stream picks up on that "bau bau" is call and response so she says it too >the second the end screen comes up she spins around and asks if i can put on "another episode"
summary: >i can't handle the teletubbies posters being correct
@apropos@jimmybuffettfanaccount@nierenstein hilariously, pekora is also a great stand for all ages entertainment Though whenever kids troll her, she basically calls them brats and go back to school you little shit :guraKekw:
@rlier23@jimmybuffettfanaccount the absolute best part of those streams is Fuwawa's censoring, because she's doing it manually and frequently misses the timing. With visible satisfaction when she does it well, and visible frustration when she screws it up. /vt/ joke:
>fuwawa's shit censoring What the fuck *** you just say about my wife?
