     It just struck me that the whole HEMA thing showed that we forgot how actual warfare was done in europe because fighting for plays was supposed to be less dangerous and then people assumed that play fighting was how europe did sword fighting.
     
     Very similar to how media now lies about stuff so people forget how things actually were.
     Machismo repeated this.

     Not in that that was done intentionally to lie to people, but that people need to be very careful about consumption of entertainment.
