      Actually, you only have legal license to seek asylum in the first country you reach where you are free from active persecution. All these people lost their ability to claim asylum in the US as soon as they touched Mexican soil.

      To a large degree many of the asylum seekers are from outside Mexico and Mexico is just funneling them to the U.S.
