What’s interesting is that the Paris Commune left such a lasting legacy that basically almost every victorious army thereafter considers itself the heirs of #French #Revolution.

The Yankees in the civil war considered themselves (and are considered in retrospect) to be pro- liberty, equality, fraternity. As did Mao in China. And Ho Chi Minh studied in France.
