   it worked :sweat: still not 100% sure how to make the sensor react the same no matter what side is lifted. Might end up just centering the sensor and using a surface mount LED next to it with a ring of 5 or 6 little magnets embedding in the top? Just from fiddling, it might even be best to have them at a 45deg angle

     the new PCBs are here
     
     let's hope everything works this time, REV 1 was a failure because I "ordered the PCBs without verifying the footprints"
     
     I already know REV 2 won't be final, been working on firmware to replace the power switch (and hope to replace the little trim pot too)
