Some doctor I don't even know felt the need to send a separate bill for...services? Like what, you looked at the ultrasound results or something? You're not even my wife's doctor, why are you even involved, and why are you sending me a bill?
   
   Healthcare is the only thing that can get away with this bullshit. If I take my car to the mechanic, he at least gives me a fucking line-item estimate before starting, and if stuff comes up while he's working, he calls me to explain it and get my approval before doing additional stuff. How did people ever let this get to the point where the hospital just does whatever they want, for however much they want to charge, and send you a bill for it weeks later with little to no explanation unless you want to spend an hour on the phone with billing just to find out you're still fucked?

     This is why the “muh gee dee pee” argument is bullshit. GDP is largely made up of crap like this , along with bloated asset bubbles propped up by money printing.
