     @arstechnica I am uncertain, but I almost recall some precedent about some FCC restriction not having any teeth because it was not broadcast, but cable only.

     I could easily see Fox giving up over the air broadcast as a sacrifice.

     @arstechnica Do people seriously not understand the difference?
     Fox Broadcasting, like the one that brings you The Simpsons, Malcom in the Middle and other such shows, while sharing a parent company with Fox News, is a totally separate division.
     Affiliate networks like the one mentioned, are affiliates of Broadcasting, not News.
