This week's church sermon was on forgiving others and the need for said forgiveness to be limitless. After liturgy I asked the Orthodox priest what we should do about forgiving people who are an ongoing threat. He responded with a story about Vladimir Putin: he claimed that Putin had once said that it wasn't his place to pass judgement on terrorists, criminals, etc., because that was God's prerogative, but that as President of Russia it *was* his responsibility to arrange the meeting between these people and God.
Naturally I smiled and thought of you.
This priest and his entire family is very heavily armed, and he is quite willing to bless parishioners' weapons. He is also quite aware of all the problems caused by the jews over the centuries.
I think this church is going to work out fine for us.
