I got a SATA->USB adapter, it comes with a hard clip-sealed plastic case, opens both ends in different ways (lid splits at one end, hinges sideways like a lighter at the other).
It's just a 10cm cable. Maybe 15 inc. plugs. About twice the length of the case.
?????

I think the case is meant to hold a laptop drive or something
oh yeah it is, there's a hole fit for the cable in the splitting lid.

Which, sure, but... I work with real harddrives...

@Zerglingman
Bro these bitches are like $200-220 for 4TB versions. What a time to be alive!

@Pyrrho Is it an external harddrive?

@Zerglingman
Nah, but you can plug them into your phone, run a Raspberry Pi 4 Jellyfin hotspot with them (Like I did, twice), use them on a Steamdeck, etc. They're a good value, and very durable.
Also unlike WD and Sandisk, they don't seem to brick themselves, from my experience.
There's still a use for huge desktop HDDs, of course.

@Pyrrho Yes, like running gaming consoles in my store.

@Zerglingman Anything that fits a PC hardrive can fit a laptop hardrive. I remember I have one that fits both, there's a spring flap that closes to hold laptop hd.

@INSTALLGENTOO Yeah but I already have the drive and it fits snugly, so instead of replacing it and getting a caddy to adjust the size, I could just... Use it.
