     I don't know what plunderphonics means, but I can hazard a guess it involves stealing elements from other styles and reworking them into your "own."
     
     Phonk grew out of the Memphis hip-hop/trap scene in the 2010s and was praised for how uinque it was, but hearing Night Tempo which should predate it, and knowing it was a spinoff of City Pop really hammers home how all niggers can do is steal what others made and claim they invented it.

     No one is doubting Vaporwave stole it's sound, that has always been it's theme. I am just :mind_blown_boar: that phonk stole a sound from a genre that was already based on stealing a sound, and all the jews in the music industry pretended that Phonk was this amazing OC (donut steel) that dindu's conjured out of nothing.

     @Bead @hj @coolboymew I remember hearing some singles on shitty alt-rock radio around the same time before I just started listening to SXM or ripped albums that were very closely copying the vaporwave sound or vice versa.
     
     That's also when the fad for music was to "rip off Disco" as well in the mainstream charts seemingly. Shit like Bruno Mars or Get Funky was charting hard.

     it is also a shame that most (and only ever) (vinyl) rips you find on torrents had atrocious wow+flutter (most rips (and i mean the only two in existence) go at much higher speed because (possibly literal) retard who ripped them didn't calibrate their turntable) this includes the MACROSS 82-99 version.

If the earlier waves used obscure R&B chart songs or "old skoool" songs that weird station with a old black DJ who calls himself a "brotha" might play or typical "oldies" station music, the later waves used 80s j-pop as samples.
