I still regret to this day the removal of my so called "wisdom teeth", teeth that don't even exist as a concept outside of the coastal US, children of WWII navymen, enlisted men were told they had to be removed and it became a ritual passed to their kids.
They say that wisdom teeth removal is "no big deal" and it's "rare" that nerves in the jaw get scrambled by drilling leaving a permanent numbness in your mouth, and having this nerve damage throughout the rest of your life travel down from your mouth to your neck arms and legs, then you read that that "rare" is 10 percent.

Is it true that Australians have a national ritual called the "teethening"? Where all your natural teeth are pulled regardless of condition at age 25 and fake teeth installed?
Old boomers tell their zoomer grandchildren, "don't worry I had my teethening it's not a big deal, just get it done"
Barbaric. Sounds even worse then English dental care.
You aren't going to live long without your natural teeth, think the average life expectancy in Aus is age 50.
