   Long-form poasting gets unfairly disrespectedbecause the ease of transmission devalues the ideas that are being sent.

   In another epoch our best poasters would be sending their gems out as handwritten missives between friends and thinkers, relaying thoughts and musings from one cloistered genius to another. How much gravity would be added to a page-long digital take if it were written by hand and delivered by a 4-day horse relay?

   How many gems will be uncovered in 200 years when people begin to sort through the remains of our thinkers for uncovered treasures?

     @WashedOutGundamPilot Longform is a lost style in any media because it requires multiple iterations of drafting, reading, editing, writing, etc. Very few people in modern times are developing these literary skills nor are there many instances now where it is useful.
     
     It does not help that modern algorithmic short form media basically produces a form of mental illness with 5 second attention spans.

     @DemonSixOne I’ve written letters before, it’s actually pretty fun if you have a good companion. I got into the swing of doing it when abroad because it’s much easier to write on the bus and send it off when you get into a city than to spend all day emailing people.

     Kinda miss doing it in a way
